It is a great honour to have been selected for the Winston Taylor Photo Portrait Prize (formerly the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize) exhibition and to be able to show my portrait of Davonta’e at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

I don’t see myself as a classic portrait photographer; the photos are taken as part of my documentary projects as significant part of this work. They are often unposed and mostly spontaneous. It is precisely this authenticity that makes a portrait interesting to me.

The portrait of Davonta’e from my most current work in Baltimore will be on display at the National Portrait Gallery in London from 5 November.

July 15: Opening of my solo exhibition “Wee Muckers” at GAF Hannover.

Many previously unpublished photos from 2017 – 2025 will be shown.

On 16 October, I will be at the opening of the Sony Awards at the Willy Brandt House in Berlin! All my friends in Berlin are warmly invited to come along to the opening and a short talk!

Overwhelmed but honoured to be the winner of the documentary category at the Sony World Photo Awards which was announced at the Award ceremony in London yesterday. The series will be on display with all the other winners at Somerset House, London until the beginning of May.

Thanks to the wonderful Romana Stehling I can now show my work from Belfast and Duisburg at c/off Munich, U-Bahn Münchner Freiheit, for about 3 weeks. Open Mon – Thu, 10am – 6pm and various evening events to be announced. Stay tuned and have a look!

I’m glad to have some of my work from DR Congo currently shown in the exhibition “MINE: What is Ours in the Wake of Extraction” at the Mechanical Hall, University of Delaware, 3 September 2024 – 15 May 2025

My photo “Strength, Respect, Loyalty” which is part of the series “Youth of Belfast” will be shown at the Bronx Documentary Center during the SDN 10th Anniversary Exhibition on October 27th, 7-10pm. Event is free and open to public, come by and join us! RSVP required.

My work about Friedensdorf International will be shown at the CentroCentro Cibeles de Cultura y Ciudadanía de Madrid (Plaza Cibeles 1) from January 24 till March 5.

First images of the exhibit and the opening last Saturday! Changing Realities is designed for the presentation in the public arena. On billboards – altars of western consumer society – the selected photographic positions create a surprising “art” space. It is thus not only an exhibition, but also an intervention in public space.
