Ten years after the IS took control of parts of Iraq to establish a caliphate, committing genocide against the Yezidi population, over 100,000 internally displaced people are still living in camps because they cannot return to their old homes. Various armed groups are still fighting for supremacy in Shingal today. But Yezidi life continues despite murder and expulsion and is slowly stabilizing again in Kurdistan.
